A New Opportunity for Elite Players

Team Onyx is a national lacrosse collective that brings together top players from six premier club organizations across the Central United States. Designed as a supplemental program to each athlete's home club, Team Onyx provides players with the opportunity to compete alongside elite talent while representing the collective at premier national tournaments.

Unlike traditional club programs, Team Onyx does not replace a player's home organization. Instead, selected athletes remain with their local club while participating in Team Onyx events throughout the year.

For our inaugural 2026-2027 season, Team Onyx will utilize an Application & Invitation Model rather than traditional tryouts.

All current players from one of our six founding partner organizations are encouraged to submit a free Team Onyx Player Application.

Following the application period, the Directors from each member organization will work collaboratively to evaluate applicants and extend roster invitations. Selections will be based on several factors, including:

• First-hand knowledge of the player

• Coach evaluations and recommendations

• Positional needs and roster construction

• Additional information provided through the application

Families may also be asked to submit game film to assist with the evaluation process.

Each Team Onyx team will compete in two premier national tournaments during the inaugural season.

Does my child need to be a member of one of the six clubs to participate?

Yes, however, we will keep a list of interested players that could join the team if we do not meet the roster minimum.

Will Team Onyx tournaments conflict with local clubs tournaments?

No. If you are a player for one of the 6 founding clubs there will be no conflicts with your clubs tournament schedule.
